BIO
Born in Guidong in Seoul, South Korea, Dae Hoon Kim (a.k.a. David H. Kim) came to America at age 4 and moved to Philadelphia, Boston, and Detroit finally finding roots in the New York area, in Brooklyn, then in Long Island.
Dae Hoon received his high school diploma from Choate Rosemary Hall and received his B.A. in economics from Pomona College in California. Upon graduating he worked at a business-to-business internet start up company in Orange County. Subsequently, he received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.
Dae Hoon is currently enrolled in the MFA program at the Maurice Kanbar Institute of Film and Television, Tisch School of the Arts, NYU and he is the recipient of the Bernie Brillstein Scholarship.
Dae Hoon also founded the Korean American Film Festival New York, sponsored by the Korean Cultural Service and the Maurice Kanbar Institute of Film and Television, Tisch School of the Arts, which in 2008, its second year, screened a preview of "Planet B-Boy" by Benson Lee and the east coast premiere of "Baby" by Juwan Chung.
